LMR Deftone takes to XPLR
Hey everyone,
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself, and my team to the community. I am the leader of Le Mans Rennsport, a team created by LMR Scantraxx and I. LMR was officially established on Sunday, March 10th 2011. The same day of the IFCA ALMS Season 3 series finale. A series that Scantraxx and I dominated in the GT class. With that as an achievement, LMR was instantly recognized on the IFCA. Quite abruptly, the team disappeared from series racing to gain members and experience.
Our return came early in the summer of 2012 at the TORA 24 Hours of Le Mans. Going into the race as the lone Porsche in the GT class, we knew the odds were against us as we went up against the best of the best for the first time. Though we were taken out of the running by a lag out we finished the race with many new friends and a place to compete as a team against the very best in the game. Since then, we have competed in 2 TORA MSA GT seasons, the ISCC America season, the Britcar 24 Hours of Silverstone, the 8 Hours of The Nurburgring, and most recently, the 12 Hours of Sebring. When it comes to the Endurance races, we have yet to finish without a laggout. Our biggest disappointment came last month at the 12 Hours of Sebring. With one stint remaining in the race, the #113 LMR Lola was leading overall. With the lightening fast LMR Dub Soljah set to drive the car to victory, he received orders to push as hard as he could. He set a remarkable pace in the first half of the stint before lagging out. The disappointment was huge as we had lost our podium finish for the 3rd time in our TORA Endurance racing history.
Our focus is now set on the upcoming TORA ISCC season and the 24 Hours of Le Mans with more cars and drivers lined up to run then ever before! LMR has also returned to the IFCA and LMR Scantraxx has picked up where he left off some 2 years ago. He is the Continental Tire Challenge season 1 champion and is currently leading the points in season 2. My intentions are now to bring the team to compete on XPLR and make many new friends the way we did on TORA. Thanks for reading, it means a lot!
Sending my best to everyone,
Deftone MX (Collin)

Re: LMR Deftone takes to XPLR
Welcome to the site my friend. Thanks for signing up. New blood is always welcome and we are a friendly bunch.
A little quiet here just now, but we have two very good looking series coming up in the next few weeks. We have season 2 of our Wobbleboxes (low power fast paced mini touring cars) which if the first season is anything to go by it will be corking!!
We are also about to release the info for our "Supercar Showdown" which has a huge choice of cars and will be a little longer in series length, but should be great fun.
If you have any questions feel free to ask away, and we will get the answer sorted out for ya.
Till then best wishes and thank you again for signing up

Re: LMR Deftone takes to XPLR
I appreciate the warm welcome everyone. It means a lot and only convinces me further of what a great community XPLR is. Shame about the connection issues Saturday. Now that I have had a chance to browse the forums a bit I have one main question.. Le Mans Rennsport is a team based in the R classes. Though a select few of us do occasionally step down to S and A, my question is how common are there championships ran on XPLR with cars in the R classes?

Re: LMR Deftone takes to XPLR
we have run DTM and Jap Touring cars in the past, and we have a new series coming up which will be a mix of high S / low R3
Re: LMR Deftone takes to XPLR
HI Deftone,
We have been known to run comps up in R-Class, but found in the past few were that keen to keep at it, and as a result the comp was fairly poorly attended.
But, if the right comp was suggested and enough people were interested then yes, we would be happy to host such an event. How many people do you think you could guide towards such a comp?
We do have the Supercar showdown just about to start,,which is a good mix of s,R3, and R2 classes. Hopefully that one is more up your street in the meantime chief
Also, we held out first public test for the Wobbleboxes last night. Down in C-class i know but bloody hell is the racing epic!! was a great session.
Have a go,,they are huge fun
Anyways, hope this helps and as i say, if you have any good ideas concerning a R-class comp let us know.

Re: LMR Deftone takes to XPLR
I appreciate your feedback guys! I am confident that the right series could bring 10 - 15 entries from LMR. I would be more than happy to help build a series and assist in coordinating it. I think it would be a great idea and would help bring a new crowd of drivers to XPLR. If you guys are interested, I would love to discuss the idea in depth as we get closer to the end of the GP3 series.
Hope all is well,
Deftone MX (Collin)
