Round 6 - Nov 29th. Rd America West. Laptimes
A note as a few have practiced. This track was listed incorrectly on the schedule as ALT West.
I have done a 1:20.5 so far but tons more time in it. Splits for 19s already.

High 19's after about 10 laps, could probs find abit more on a corner or 2

What's the score on the speed bumps, it doesn't dirty your lap if you hit em dead on.

Do we have to stick to the track or can we hit the speed bumps?

The black and white curbs are track limits. So treat them as such. Two wheels on is fine. Four wheels on is cutting. Replays will be scrutinized closely. Even without an SI if you are cutting repeatedly and with intent to cut to gain an advantage penalties as harsh as having your finishing position removed completely can be applied. In short. Don't Cut!

Weird how you can get a faster time over the speed bumps, defeats the purpose!

So just to be clear jumping over the black and white striped curbs are bad?

Yes you can treat it like any other curb and go over it with two wheels. Aiming straight for it and jumping it is a corner cut
Re: Round 6 - Nov 29th. Rd America West. Laptimes
didn't see many corners cut last night but i did see....
a mass jump start in race 1 by nearly the whole grid
far to many crashes, it is like being in a online lobby, its not if theres a wreck its when.
driving etiquette, if you push someone off track you must wait for them, not seen it once in the races so far, ppl just drive off.
for me its the lobby size, you have ppl 3 seconds a lap faster in your lobby and your doing random grids, this means the slower guys get swamped early when tyres are cold and crashes happen, your running 24 cars on small tracks its too many.
look at the races when the lobbies were split, no crashes really, in last few, lots of crashes.....

the race was started 5 seconds early, which was entirely Greg's fault, he seemed to be the only person who didn't know we were starting on the 3 minutes mark - on watching the replay no big gains were made by anyone as no one launched before the car in front of them did - this is something we have to put up with due to the current lobby settings AND the lack of communication thanks to the forza servers - it is clearly stated on the sign in thread, and if it happens again people WILL be penalised for a jump start
as for crashes i saw 3 all night, and one of those was pretty much just involving myself, lack of talent, and a wall!
as for the track not being big enough for 24 cars, that is absolute nonsense, no one got lapped so i don't see any issue - for ages we have been crying out for bigger lobbies to make our competitions more realistic, real races have slower and faster drivers, they don't run in separate events, how is a B lobby driver ever going to get on the A lobby podium?
and we are far far from an online lobby, yes there will be mistakes and incidents, but no one is going round deliberately smashing into each other - if they are it should be reported, otherwise we can't do anything
as for driving etiquette, we have no rule that you must wait for someone if you hit them - so there is no issue, its up to the driver at the time, and is usually done to get out of a penalty - i lagged into the back of HCR Asleep last night, slowing down to wait for him in a busy pack would have just been dangerous - it doesn't happen in real motorsport, if your car isn't broken you carry on racing (and await the stewards wrath) - out of driver etiquette i apologised to him after the race - simple

To be honest I thought it was quite clean think I may of traded paint with a couple of people but was struggling with a broken pad that wont turn right properly lol

Re: Round 6 - Nov 29th. Rd America West. Laptimes
I will agree with both of you on a few things. The etiquette thing is very nice and guys are doing it in situations when it makes sense too. as a matter if fact one driver caused a wreck then gave up his entire race to help limp that driver back to the pits. Knockhill is insanely small and the actual BTCC runs 32 cars on that track. Are the issues sure but thats racing. I have gone through most of the race two and three replays and the issues come down to a few things. Poor etiquette is a thing at times. We have a couple drivers who do not understand blocking is not only not allowed but also poor in ethics. Most if not all SIs we look at every week come down to overzealous driving. No patience combined with a few being obsessed with being the victim and RAGE. Seriously what is the deal with this guys? Its a game. Its not perfect. We all try as hard as we can. Mistakes are made. Racing happens. I had the worst day ever yesterday for luck. Internet dropped out so i missed qually on a track i was sure to drop a top 5 qually time on. Oh well. Missed first race too. Oh well. Got into the lobby 10 seconds too late for race two. Oh well. Get put in the tires on lap two of race three. HA! Well that sucks! Oh well race on. If its bad in the replay. Put in an SI. We are blessed with having some of the best of the best on our forums and thankful for everyone of you that show up. Everyone keep trying their best to have fun and fun will be had.
Re: Round 6 - Nov 29th. Rd America West. Laptimes
I remember karma took me off track in race 3 then lost a boat load of places waiting for me to get back on. I am seeing good driving mostly from people here, its just a championship that inspires close racing and close racing inspires crashes, i'm still enjoying this series.

Re: Round 6 - Nov 29th. Rd America West. Laptimes
The early start was totally down to me and I hang my head. I was not aware of the 3 min start time that had been set, and it was me that gave the instruction for the guy on pole to call his start time, which he did for 2:55.
I tried to echo this to all lobby users who could hear me, and asked others to do so as well, in a hope that we would all get the message. I see totally this is my bad and i can only say sorry now.
If anyone wants to lodge an SI against me for it i will not contest in any form, and I feel bad for cocking things up.
Regards,
Greg
