car builds question

Can we be more clear on what is and isn't allowed.in the car builds as in previous series they were specified fully.

When building them I am unsure what.I can and can't put on that isn't listed also why can't we use front aero?.

Karlos The list is all the items that have to be used.  So in other words if its not on the list you can use whatever you want.  So you can use front aero or not. It's your choice.

Basically the car is pretty specced out anyway.  

All you are really building is your weight and engine.

My steps are.
Choose the car you want.
Then install all the mandatory parts.
Then get the car as close to the 2700lb weight.
Then build your engine up to 350hp (remember you can dial your weight in with engine parts)

If your on later Ill chat with you and help you get set up.

The 350 HP is throwing me off because when I add the turbo or supercharger it automatically puts the car above 350 HP.

If its the car i think it is, it comes standard twin turbocharged. I'll get JVan to update the build section as it should read:

Turbo Charged or Twin Turbo Charged engine (Audi will be supercharged)
instead of
Turbo Charged or twin Charged engine (audi is supercharged)

Does this mean only a 255 tyre can be used and the rim is a minimum of 18", or is the 255 also a minimum. As the car I'm looking at has 265 on the rear as standard.

Again a bit of miscommunication, the 255 tyre is a standard size on all cars that are capable of running it, if they cannot run it then tyre size must be standard. Same for 18" rims

Blade I'm sorry I left that out. the BMW would be the exception as the rear is a 265 minimum. Veloster also can only get to a 245.

I was trying to upgrade wrong car. Didn't realize the one I meant to upgradr was dlc. Confusion on my part.

I love the idea of this series but (all awd cars will have the biased all the way to the front) wtf? since when is rob austins audi awd anyway? that thing is fully rwd and yet again fwd cars with over 300hp to the front wheels its just stupid think you need to relook at this series and watch the btcc first any questions contact me on xbox im not on these forums at all

^ I have to admit I kind of agree with this, there seems to be more and more faults in the builds and rules come up. I did say when helping to develop you need to sit down and properly put some regs together, it looks to me like it has been rushed!

the builds are a lot more open and thought through than that run on other sites, i will await jvanessen's comments on drivelines etc

and please note that with any real world comp immitation we are confined to the restrictions of forza - for example we can't add ballast

I've ran every privateer car that isn't dlc and every car came within 1/2 second.of.each other with no car faster than another. Each car had strengths in.differenttracks it's very much like a alms league where no one car will dominate the league.

I like it.

as a btcc fan im fully aware of the the Audi's drivetrain, it may be that with RWD the Audi is too good a car which wouldn't be fair.. without knowing anything of the testing for this series i cannot answer

with any comp we have to do our best to replicate but maintain a competition

just flicked though to find the exact model of audi permitted and it does say rwd next to it so doesnt matter about the change just something i over looked after reading the start

Ok well now that that is sorted.

Guys I have been testing these cars for months now and I really do feel that they are all going to be very close. Myself and Mab went through a ton of different scenarios to try and get it right. That being said we will have the Allan Gow thread open after the first race and just like the actual series you will be allowed to file for review on your build once and only once throughout the season.

As far as the AWD conversion biased to FWD on some cars it is just the only way to get them FWD. They take a little more to tune but once dialed in they handle very neutral and are quite quick.

The builds have not been rushed at all but my wording of the rules I will agree was. My apologies. Sometimes what makes perfect sense in your head is confusing to others. I will ensure a proof read for any future events.
