XPLR 'Stock' Series - Coming in 2013!

Some of you guys may be aware of a Stock series planned for XPLR. For those who aren't familiar, here are the details;


What's often said with regards to comps with open builds or open, is that the usual 'fast' guys are always at a huge advantage due to having much better tuning knowledge and experience. A while back, XPLR ran a Seat Leon Supercup Championship, using the stock car with no tuning. This meant that everyone on the grid was completely equal in terms of their cars, and gave us some of the closest racing we've seen on XPLR.

So that's why myself and some of the other admin came up with the idea of running a series of short comps using completely standard cars with no tuning and no upgrades. Real back-to-basics racing, with a totally equal grid of cars.

The first 6 cars to be used have been tested, and the track lists for each car have been put together. All we need now is to gather some good interest and to let you guys get involved!


I've put up a poll so the XPLR community can choose which of the 6 cars we will run first. As said this should be going live in the new year, so get voting!

You can vote for more than 1 car, but please try to limit to 2/3 so can get a good idea of what to run with

Is it possible to run the stock series with no traction control?

I had mentioned in my original post about running the comp with no assists (seeing as none of the cars need it! Perhaps the Evora might with some people..), which was part of my idea for this comp...

But that seems to have been edited out of my post Andy?

we don't normally force off driving aids, most of these cars will be a lot slower with traction control and abs, so i think it's upto everyone individually if they want to run it

the stock series is a good intro competition for new racers, so i don't really want to impose restrictions

Are they going to have race brakes so people can adjust the pressure?

they will be completely stock, no upgrades, no tuning

Can see your point Andy, I know that the Audi especially is loads slower with stabilty and traction turned on. So people will end up at a dis-advantage using some of the assists...


So fair enough, people may as well be allowed to use assists if they really want

Looking forward to this. Ive always known I'm super quick and other people have had to resort to tuning their way past me. A comp like this will see me ascend to glory :-)

Unless I turn up with all my driver aids switched on, then you've had it my friend!!!. But I'm a good sport so I'm willing to turn them all off,so to give everyone a fighting chance.

With quite a few cars dan, some of the assists actually make then slower. Using stability and traction control on cars like the civic and definitely the Quattro, makes them a good deal slower! I remember during a race round maple valley in season 1 of the VWAG comp (I was in the Corrado) I accidentaly left stability on from a car I'd been hot-lapping in before the race. In the fwd Corrado I was a good couple of seconds slower ....!

Plus with the 4wd Audi, anyone who thinks they need traction control is a numpty

I hope your happy,I now face another sleepless night with my wife rubbing my back,telling me everything will be alright,and that all those nasty mister's on xplr are just trying to knock my confidence cos there all frightened of my mega awsomeness etc...

Seriously dude, take the Audi for a spin and see for yourself it's 4wd so rapid of the line with no spinning the wheels.. Plus having tcs on makes it loads slower through the bends

Although the Civic is only 2 votes behind, and the Ferrari and Lotus are tied with 6 votes each. Could be a close vote
