driver ranking

How does the driver ranking system work here?

at the end of a season you are awarded points for your finishing position in the championship based on our standard points table as used for scoring each race

as you compete in further seasons your average points score from each season is calculated and this is your point score to determine your driver rank

for each season you compete in you are also awarded a points bonus (currently 10, however this will be reduced to 5 at the next update)

the system was introduced a few months ago, so it's ongoing calculation is still subject to review

is it starting over since its a new year, with the top 3 staying there, or how often is it updated.

It's updated after every competition finishes

The top 3 (driver numbers) will be reallocated every 3 months, ill look at resetting the calculation next year (this has only been running since October)
