How should pit entry be observed?
Pit Rules Vote
5. Pit lane entrance and exit markings must be adhered to, no part of the car is allowed to cross the pit markings, use of rumble strips on pit chicanes is allowed provided 2 wheels remain in contact with the circuit. Please refer to the detailed pit entry/exit details specified in the rules section.
6. It is mandatory that when you make a pit stop you stay within the markings of the pit entrance and exit. Failure to do so could result in a penalty if you are seen to gain an advantage or endanger other drivers by doing so.
The following pit rules have been put forward for review as they are causing bad feeling in that some people are not happy with the penalties issued for pitting improperly under the current rules (even though these have been reduced), and other drivers feel that they are being put at a disadvantage by some still managing to exploit the current system - we want everyone to be happy racing here, and to feel that our events are fair
We aimed to make the rules black/white - any wheel off the circuit is punishable, staff have to spend time reviewing the pits and deciding if an advantage is gained or not, and being consistent with decisions is nearly impossible if the rule isn't clear cut
We are therefore asking the members to vote on what they would like to see going forward
1. Keep the current system
2. Scrap pit stops (except for endurance events) - due to the length of our races the need for fresh tyres doesn't really apply with forza physics
3. Reduce entrance rule - in real motorsport pit entries are rarely punished, therefore a driver may use any tarmac on entry, if 4 wheels leave the tarmac this would be classed as departing the circuit (and punishable)
no changes to the pit EXIT rules are proposed for realism and safety
Please cast your vote, ask any questions here and I will answer them

Re: Pit Rules Vote
I say dump it. Saves messing around, and it adds nothing to the game, as the length of the events we run mean tyre wear/fuel are not an issue, so i feel its just another thing to have as a problem area.
The only time i would say have a pit is in an enduro event. Apart form that I would love to see em gone.

Re: Pit Rules Vote
I say keep the current one, i dont understand how people can bitch about losing 5/10 points, theres pictures to see how to do it, if no one can see them or takes the pi$$ trying to gain an extra tenth, was it really worth it?
I'll put a vid up later to show people about whats fair/whats not fair, at nurburg gp in the spr.
Just take it on the chin, its no ones fault, you have some bad nights and you have some good nights, the rules are for everyone, not just YOU!
Sorry for the rant, but thats just my view of the situation

the main problem is people are making small mistakes, and complaining about their penalty... this is currently taking hours of staff time a week to investigate and re-investigate and discuss
Re: Pit Rules Vote
Ok, in that case i say allow 2 wheels to stay on the tarmac, places like motegi full i can imagine either everyone getting a penalty, or there being a massive crash as people have to slow down so much

Re: Pit Rules Vote
I reckon the entrance rules should be relaxed. I haven't had a pit pen for a while but it us a pain in the butt being penalised for 1 wheel going outside the lines. fwiw I agree with donkey about the 2 wheel rule. At least you then have to make some sort of effort to stay within the pit entrance

Re: Pit Rules Vote
ok can those in favour of reducing the rule please vote for the reduce option, if it wins we will have a further vote to decide how much
if anyone has already voted, it can be cancelled

Re: Pit Rules Vote
Scrap required stops. It seems to break up more ontrack battles than pit stops create. I would rather pass or get passed than gain or lose a spot in pit strategy.

I say keep the current one. Pitting properly isn't exactly difficult, so if people run wide or cut the track etc then they should get a penalty. Maybe reducing the penalties slightly would be good but I personally don't see any problem with it..

Re: Pit Rules Vote
think you've allowed youtube to stabilise the video... quite funny what it has done!
and you cut the entry line on the way in - crashing into the wall isn't a problem as long as you don't impede anyone
we basically have to have a black and white rule for everyone - at the moment its staying within the pit markings
the COs spend enough time reviewing the pits - it isn't and wont ever be possible for them to spend time deciding if an advantage was gained or not
this is why this poll was created

the penalties have already been reduced... show's how much people actually read the rules!
Re: Pit Rules Vote
well i think this has remained open long enough for people to cast their vote, and there is a clear majority
so the current rule will stand - please note that as this has been agreed by the majority of the members it will be applied, and no appeals will be considered
the rules are the rules... full stop

Re: Pit Rules Vote
Just to clarify with everybody, these are the current rules written on the rules page, there is also pictures of most tracks pit procedure to be found on the bit, No excuses guys!
Pit Procedure
1. Some race meetings may include 1 or more mandatory pit-stops during a race.
2. Mandatory pit-stops must take place in the time frame designated by the event rules or the lobby host. Pit-stops taken outside this period will be forwarded to a steward and penalised accordingly.
3. When making a pit stop, the driver must come to a full stop in the pit lane, if this does not happen a driver must re enter the pit lane on a later lap within the designated window.
4. If a driver sustains 10% or more engine damage during the race, they are permitted to make their pitstop outside of the designated window. The driver must declare that they are stopping outside of the window due to damage. This pitstop will be counted as your mandatory stop and the driver is not required to stop again.
5. Pit lane entrance and exit markings must be adhered to, no part of the car is allowed to cross the pit markings, use of rumble strips on pit chicanes is allowed provided 2 wheels remain in contact with the circuit. 6. It is mandatory that when you make a pit stop you stay within the markings of the pit entrance and exit. Failure to do so could result in a penalty if you are seen to gain an advantage or endanger other drivers by doing so.
7. It is mandatory that you announce that you are either about to pit or about to exit the pit. This should be done by a simple announcement with your gamer tag and what you are about to do.

Re: Pit Rules Vote
Penalties
Failure to pit
Loss of all points gained for that race
No percentage discount is allowed with this infringement
Pitting improperly*
5 point deduction (applies to entry and exit, 10 point maximum deduction)
Pitting outside the window would also be classed as pitting improperly and incurr a 5 point deduction
There is also always a chance that any collision or incident in the pit lane could be classed as dangerous driving
