Re: to CSR or not to CSR that is the question...

Post by HCR Karma on Sat Mar 16, 2013 2:33 pm

its a debate as well just with me as to if its best to put the FFB up at full on the wheel, and adjust the setting down in the game itself. I have read a few places this is hte best way to go,,as the if the two settings are not either full on the wheel and taken down in the game,,or full in the game and taken down in the wheel that they kinda counteract eachother,,,,if that makes sense,,lol

I keep forgetting to sort that bit out,lol

I have googled loads about it,,and i am no better for it. I think its a case of us working out with some form of logic whats best. If this be the case i fear am screwed,,, Laughing

The thomas blog is about the best resource i have found yet,,,

trial and error time,, Rolling Eyes

don't know what firmware iv got. tried your setting but never turned off the wheel and turned on again, wheel don't load settings properly unless i do this. Your setting of 270 degree is undrivable for me, makes me think i may have different firmware than u. I m the same though, lots of literature and lots of contradictions about settings and firmware. got an OK setting at mo so ill go with that for now.
FF on forza menu 87
Wheel settings-
SEN 420
FF 70
SHO 100
DRI OFF OR 1
ABS 68
LIN 10 ...makes a big difference and stops wobble effect in my opinion

I have the exact same setup, except my stand is black.. Hardly use it though, can't get the settings right, and people tell me they are slow.. So it's always put me off..

Hoping future games are the way forward.. Although I would be happy to proved wrong now if I am honest, as its a lot of money to sit in my dining room!

hallaalooouuya...firmwear 756 has made a massive differance, in fact the wheel is a different piece of kit.
in 900 degree turn the wheel in cockpit mode and it mirrors the in game wheel. Can't believe this update. i've got and standard settings only change is abs and in game force feedback at 70.....no more uncontrollable tank slappers, wheel is tight and fucking awesome...yeeehaaa

Glad ur wheel is going better for ya chief. I still find it odd the different setting folk prefer. I use 270 on everything and get on ok with it,,but I will give 420 a go on the rwd motors to see how it goes

with 756FW i'm using 780 SEN for FWD. In game FF needs to be 70 and wheel 90-100, FEELS NICE. I think there must be a difference in the Porsche wheel and CSR, at 360 sen I can't drive in a straight line..wobbles all over place. such a grey area. Loved my xbox wheel but pedals let it down. I did the top gear, reasonably priced car laps with xbox wheel a yr or so ago. had a go with the csr wheel and went 1.5 seconds quicker and in top 400, proof in the pudding even if it is an headache
