Thank you from Staff - Viper Cup

Post by XPR Roadrunner on Sat Mar 29, 2014 9:38 pm

The XPLR staff would like to thank everybody for racing in this series, we will get the standings finalized as quickly as possible and get the prizes sorted.

Remember to look out for PM's for those of you who have won prizes. Those of you who won selected months of DLC will be asked which packs you would like. I will confirm which months are available to choose from this weekend.

Thank you again, and hopefully we will have this competition back, and even better, in the future.

Thanks to all of the admins and staff for running such a fun event, really was a blast to take part in.

Also, thanks to all of the people that participated in some great racing, Spa vs Devil is something that will stick in my mind for a while. Smile

Really enjoyed this series. Look forward to the next one.

Hopefully, there will be another FM5 event announced very soon.  Wink

My highlight has to be spa, side by side at the end of the long straight and into the next few corners. That was some 'special' racing. I hope for more of the same in the future. That's how it should be. Nice one Rosso  Very Happy

Thank you to all who took part and for those who attended every race.

And well done to the top 3, Rosso, Chrisupra and roadrunner. Nearly had 3rd but hey ho. That's racing. roll on season 2.

Love the Viper. Might like to try one of the other versions of it though, this one was fickle.

Yesser! I was actually really surprised at how these cars were in a pack. I knew it was gonna be fun, but this was awesome.

Favourite part had to be either me vs gashi/speedeffect at Road America in race 1, I think. That or holding off Chrisupra at the end of Road Atlanta Race 2.

Lots of fun, and deff be on the lookout for a 2nd series at some point in the future.

Great series! Lot's of nice people, but it was ultimately ruined by a few whiners with a sense of entitlement! No

You were investigated by your own team. I filed nothing. I think that says a lot about their impression of your behaviour. In fact, if you were my team mate, I'd be sat cringing at your posts. It is testament to your bone-headedness that despite being punished for your actions, you still seem to be of the opinion you are somehow in the right. So let me break it down for you.

You blocked me on lap 3 or 4 (the lap escapes me) when we were both on the lead lap going up to turn 3. Failing to leave a cars width on the inside despite me being at your rear quarter.

You then blocked me for 3 laps after your incident, causing me to leave the track on multiple occasions as well as forcing me to take evasive action. When told to yield, you didn't and caused an avoidable incident with a guy fighting for the title.

Now, when you sign up for things like this, you agree to the rules and regulations (you should be familiar with them, they were written and enforced by your team mates, who for the record should be embarrassed by you and your childish behaviour)
If you choose not to follow these rules, don't act all butthurt on the forum (or in a pre race lobby) when you are penalised as a result. The same goes for everyone that races.

In summation, if you don't like the rules, don't race. We all followed them.

Yas sir, looking back it seems a little disappointing that I sat on the side watching the race without one mention of the pits being open, so I guess we are not here to help each other, bit like the real thing I suppose.

It is ALWAYS mentioned in the lobby before the race that there wasn't a mandatory pit stop, but if you have damage and need to pit, you can do so. It was never stated that you were not allowed to pit at all.

I would never assume the pits are closed to the racers, ever. I've had to use the pits twice in this event without a second thought.

Re: Thank you from Staff - Viper Cup

I have stated all along that this is all new to me, and as it was the first series on the ONE I thought I might get in and learn some things before it gets serious, with all my hassles of even getting in let alone qualify, I missed most of the pre race amble and as stated last week I finally heard it on the second last race session between race 1 and 2 thus enabling me to actually run the last session. I am not moaning about learning, more saying I thought maybe more assistance would be offered to someone who is obviously suffering some difficulties in trying to be at least competitive. I don't assume anything, easy way of finding trouble, and as I have never used the pits in FM5 it is not automatically on my radar. The new series has 2 compulsory pit stops so I look forward to seeing how the pit lane entrances and exits are applied and when you can or can't go over them? Again sorry if taken as a moan, just my way of bringing attention to a way of assistance.
